Honestly? That's completely normal.
Some of my favorite images happen when children are simply being themselves. At times, we'll work together to find the key to get that genuine smile, but often some of those best moments happen when kids feel like they're just having fun. I'll keep things moving, playful, and low-pressure so we can capture genuine moments along the way.

After booking, you'll receive a styling guide with tips for coordinating outfits without feeling overly matching. I'm available as a resource to help you in this process, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you need help choose pieces or if you're unsure.
Absolutely! Extended family sessions are a wonderful way to celebrate multiple generations together. For half and full family sessions, the max number of people is seven, so if you just want to bring grandma along for a few shots to your family session, that's totally fine. However, if you're bringing a group of more than seven people or multiple family groupings (aunts & uncles, grandparents, cousins, and more), the family tree package is best for you.
We'll choose a location that fits your family's style, whether that's outdoors, downtown, in your home, in a studio, or somewhere meaningful to your family. I'll send you a location guide that includes details and past photos from some of my favorite places around San Antonio, Castroville, New Braunfels, Boerne, and more!
Spring and fall evenings tend to book the fastest, so I recommend reserving your session several weeks (or even a few months) in advance if possible.
I love this question!
Sometimes there's not a lot of flexibility on time. Your kids are are only here for the weekend and can only do Saturday at noon, or your work schedules only align to get away on for photos on Friday morning at 9:30 am. I've shot in just about every lighting situation you can imagine, and no matter when we end up shooting, we'll be able to capture your chapter in a beautiful way.
But, if you want to know the BEST times, here are my recommendations:
For outdoor photos, I absolutely love shooting during golden hour, which is typically around the hour after morning sunrise or before evening sunset. (That's often the lighting you see on those dreamy Pinterest photos). My booking page availability is most closely aligned with these times.
Not every session is the same though. Sometimes mornings and evenings simply don't work for your family, and if that's the case, we can talk through the best locations that won't put us in direct sunlight or that give a little more flexibility.
For in-home sessions, we can talk through which rooms in your home you want to photograph in, what their window and lighting situations are, and which direction they face.
Studio sessions? These give us a lot more flexibility. For natural light studios, I can give recommendations based on the direction of their windows, and studios without windows... it's just a matter of checking their availabilty.
