The Process
Congratulations! You're engaged (or suspect you will be soon)!
You're likely now caught in the whirlwind of searching for and comparing vendors to make your dream day, well... what you always dreamed for it to be.
My hope is to make booking your wedding photographer as seamless and personable as possible. Fill out the contact form below to let me know a few basic things about your big day. I'd love to grab coffee (on me) or hop on a phone call if that's easier for you so we can talk through your vision for the day and see if we'd be a good fit.
Let's lock everything in! After we meet, you'll receive an email with a photography agreement and retainer invoice to lock in your date.
Retainer is due at the time of booking (25%) and can be paid through the provided payment portal or by check (made out to "Megan Joy Marie Photography LLC").
As your big day get's closer, we'll schedule a call (or can meet in person if you want) to talk through your day-of timeline and other important elements of your day so we'll be on the same page.

Final payment is due one week before your wedding day!
First off, let's take a deep breath to take it all in. It's your wedding day!
I'll show up at the first communicated location and will jump in taking photos!
I'll send you a sneak peek of about 10 photos a few days after your wedding so you can post, share, and have something sweet to reflect back on as you wait for your final gallery.
Your final gallery will be sent to you no later than 6 weeks after your wedding date.
Grab a nice hot cup of coffee or tea, light a candle, and cozy up with your new spouse to walk down memory lane to your special day!
You have rights to print your photos wherever you'd like (as outlined in the photography agreement), or you can order prints, an album, canvases, and more through me on the online store available through your gallery portal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a retainer due at booking?
Yes! A 25% payment is due at booking to secure your date. When you book, we can discuss the best payment plan for you to break up the payments, but you must be payed in full one week before your wedding day.
Trust me. That last week can be hectic, and it's so nice to have things like this checked off your list early.
How will I receive my images?
I use an online gallery delivery service to share images. You'll receive a link to view and share your sneak peek photos 1-3 days after your wedding, and a link to your full gallery within 6 weeks, You'll also have a photo release, so you're free to download your photos from there to print wherever you'd like. No extra charges coming from me!
For your convenience, I also have an online store connected through your gallery where you can order your prints, books, canvases, and more directly from your gallery.
We're kind of awkward and not great at posing. Can you help us?
Of course! I'll be around capturing authentic, candid moments throughout the day, and when it's time to pose, I'll guide you through what to do. I typically aim to help you interact with each other and keep you in the moment so your photos come out looking natural and full of emotion!
How do you protect my images?
When shooting weddings, I simultaneously record to 2 SD cards on my camera, and following your wedding day your RAW images are saved on those SD cards and backed up to two separate external drives until your final gallery is delivered. I'll guarantee to keep copies of your RAW & edited images for 6 months after image delivery.
Do we have to do an engagement session?
It's not required, but... I highly encourage doing an engagement session together before your big day - so much so, that it's complementary in most of my packages.
There are so many moving parts on your wedding day that having an established relationship with someone you trust and are familiar with can make you feel more comfortable and ultimately help your photos come out more natural.
Working together on an engagement session helps us do just that. Plus, you get photos for your save-the-dates & invites, wedding website, social media shoutouts, and more!
